Central Java Police Deploy Thousands of Personnel Including Tactical Teams, Secure 14 Under 17 World Cup Matches in Surakarta

Central Java Police – Surakarta City | Surakarta Manahan Stadium will be the main magnet for the U-17 World Cup event in Indonesia. A total of 14 matches will be held at the Solo Manahan Stadium from the group stage on November 10 to the final on December 2.

In order to ensure the security of the U-17 World Cup, the National Police held a Centralized Operation entitled Operation Aman Bacuya 2023.

The pre-security operation training for the Central Java level was held at the Donohudan Hajj Dormitory, Boyolali and attended by hundreds of participants, Tuesday (7/11/2023).

Head of Public Relations of the Central Java Regional Police, Kombes Pol Satake Bayu Setianto, as the Head of the Public Relations Task Force in Operation Aman Bacuya 2023 at the Central Java Regional Police Level, said that his party focused on securing all participants including a series of matches held at the Manahan Surakarta stadium.

In addition, security also targets the entire series of activities starting from securing the route and route traveled, the match venue, namely the Solo Manahan Stadium, 6 training stadiums, and 2 lodging places.

At the match location, security is carried out using 3 layers of security zones.

A total of 4515 personnel were alerted by the Central Java Regional Police, consisting of joint personnel from the Police and TNI.

“In detail, the alerted personnel consist of 963 security personnel from the Central Java Police Headquarters Unit, 3,141 personnel from the ranks of the police and 500 personnel from the TNI,” he said.

He mentioned that a number of tactical units were also deployed in security activities including the K-9 Unit from the Polsatwa Team, Jibom and Jihandak from Gegana, PHH and Anti Drone from Satbrimob, and the Cyber Team from the Gakkum Task Force.

“For Zone I security (inside the Stadium) prioritizes the function and role of the Steward controlled by FIFA. The involvement of Police personnel is carried out in accordance with the threat escalation and requests from the Safety and Security Officer,” he explained.

While security in Zone II (around the stadium area) and Zone 3 (outside the stadium area) is the responsibility of the National Police which is backed up by other related officers.

Control of security activities will be carried out through 2 Tactical Posts in the Surakarta Police RTMC Room and at Manahan Stadium. In addition, the Main Command Post is also prepared in the MCC Room of the Central Java Police Operations Bureau.

In addition, the Central Java Police also alerted hundreds of CCTVs throughout the city of Surakarta and integrated in the RTMC Tactical Command Post at the Surakarta Police Headquarters.

“While in the Manahan Stadium environment itself, 87 CCTVs have been prepared to monitor the situation for 24 hours,” he explained.

Kombes Satake Bayu appealed to citizens to participate in maintaining the conduciveness of public order during the U-17 World Cup event in Surakarta City.

“During the U-17 World Cup activities in Surakarta City and its surroundings, a series of traffic flow engineering will be carried out for the sake of smoothness, we urge the public to obey the directions given by officers in the field. Let us together keep the entire area in Solo and its surroundings in a safe state without any disturbances during the U-17 World Cup,” he concluded.
